Jaffna troops laid foundation stones for construction of two new houses for selected low income families living in Sanguweli and Chandrapuram on 08 October 2021. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu graced the occasions as the Chief Guest during a simple ceremony.
These two ceremonies were organized by the troops of 511 and 523 Infantry Brigades on the guidance of Major General Deepal Pussella RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding 51 Division and Brigadier Chandana Wickramasighe RWP RSP ndu psc General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division.
Sri Sathya Sai International Organization and Chairman of the ‘Thyagi Charitable Trust’ Mr V Thyagendran sponsor for this construction on the request made by the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna). Troops of 9th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 4th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provides much needed manpower and technical expertise for the construction work under the supervision of the Commanders of 511 and 523 Infantry Brigade.
After the foundation laying ceremony, the Commander Security Forces Jaffna donated dry ration packs for deserving families.
General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Government Officials were also present at the ceremony.
