On the occasion of the 73rd Republic Day of India, Security Forces Jaffna and Acting Consulate General of India in Jaffna paid tributes in the memory of fallen heroes of the 10th Para Commando Regiment of Indian Army who sacrificed their lives during the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) operation “Operation Pawan” in Jaffna between year 1987 and 1989. The commemoration ceremony was held at the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) monument in Palaly, Jaffna on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.
The Acting Consul General of India in Jaffna, Mr. Ram Mahesh together with the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu placed floral wreaths at the monument in honour of the fallen heroes of Indian Peace Keeping Force.
Senior Army Officers, Officials of the Consulate General of India in Jaffna and troops witnessed the commemoration.
