The General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division, Major General NalinJayawardene RSP ndc, paid his maiden visit to the 553 Infantry Brigade at Visuwamadu on 05 September 2023. The visit was marked by a warm welcome from the Brigade Commander, Brigadier SamanPerera RSP, who provided a comprehensive briefing on the Brigade's area of responsibility and functions.
The General Officer Commandingbegan his visit by inspecting various sections under the 553 Infantry Brigade followed by the visit to 6 SLSR and 14 SLNG Battalions. Addressing the troops directly, he expressed his gratitude for their unwavering dedication to duty and appreciated for the efforts made by the troops in elevating the standards of their respective stations.
In a display of camaraderie and solidarity, a tea party was organized for All Ranks to interact with the General Officer Commanding.The visit followedby a group photograph, capturing the memorable moments of the day.
