Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony Conducted by 51 Infantry Division

In a continued effort to uplift the lives of the people within its Area of Responsibility, the 51 Infantry Division proudly commenced a new Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) initiative in Kopay. Under the direction of Commander of Security Force Jaffna, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc and the visionary leadership and strategic guidance of the General Officer Commanding, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, and with the coordination of the 511 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 15th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard have undertaken the noble task of constructing a new home for Mrs. Rejina Jasinthan and her low-income family in the Earlalai South GN Division. This heartfelt endeavor reflects the Division’s enduring commitment to community welfare and social upliftment.

To mark the commencement of this meaningful project, a foundation stone laying ceremony was held at the auspicious time of 10:12 a.m. on 27 May 2025. The event was graced by Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Force - Jaffna, who attended as the Chief Guest on special invitation. The success of this initiative is further ensured through the dedicated coordination of Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Retd), while generous financial contributions were pledged by Rev. J. Wesly Ariyaraja, currently residing in Canada. This collaborative effort not only provides tangible support to a deserving family but also strengthens the enduring bond between the military and the community.
