The General Officer Commanding of the 51 Infantry Division, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, was invited as the chief guest for the foundation stone laying ceremony of new Kopay Police Station. The initiative aims to enhance the infrastructure facilities of the station. The ceremony was graced by Senior DIG Mr Thilak Dhanapala and senior police officers representing the Jaffna Police Range.
Today’s foundation stone represents more than just the beginning of a building it marks a step towards a brighter future for all who will benefit from this project. Once completed, the new police station is expected to provide improved facilities for the effective functioning of police operations, while also contributing to a safer and more peaceful environment for the local community.
The ceremony concluded with a fruitful interaction session between the armed forces and the police. At the end of the event, senior police officers expressed their appreciation for the presence of the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, and acknowledged the valuable support provided by his staff.
