A total of 117 Foreign Employees from Qatar who were in quarantine left Jaffna for their homes after completion of Forty Five days long quarantine process at Viddaththapalei Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on 15 October 2020. Prior to release they underwent the medical procedures and received quarantine certificates.
The groups segregated according to areas of their residential location provided with Army transport facilities up to their destinations in Kandy, Navalapitiya, Anuradapura, Kalutara, Kegalle, Rathnapura, Ampara, Batticaloa, Trincomalee and Ambalanthota areas along with meals, snacks, water etc. Police provided assistance to escort the convoy of 16 vehicles.
The quarantine process was conducted by the troops of Security Forces Jaffna under the guidance of the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID -19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the NOCPCO, Chief of the Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
General Officer Commanding 52 Division, Senior Officers and Troops witnessed the departure formalities.
