As per the concept of the General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Aruna Wijekoon USP ndc, and under the supervision of the Brigade Commander, 551 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Maithree Kandekumbura RSP USP, a football coaching camp was conducted with the support of the Commanding Officers of 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 11th (V) Battalion Gajaba Regiment on 11 and 12 October 2025 at the Kilinochchi Public Stadium with the participation of 220 children from 12 schools and players from under command battalions of 55 infantry division.
On the evening of the final day, the closing ceremony was held under the patronage of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division and Government Agent of Kilinochchi District Mr S Muralitharan. All the distinguished guests appreciated the players and coaches and presented them with certificates and letters of commendation.
