As suggested by Major General Priyantha Perera, the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and with the visionary guidance of the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Troops of the Headquarters of the 51 Infantry Division organized a dry ration and lunch packet distribution program on Monday the 26th April 2021 to coincide with the Bak Pura Pasaloswaka Poya Day.
The program focuses on providing some relief to the less fortunate and underprivileged families to maintain the spirits of reconciliation, unity and solidarity between civilians and Security Forces in the area (Selvapuram Village in Urumpirai South). The Divisional troops with the support of civilian philanthropist jointly donated the ration items for the program.
The program successfully completed by distributing 300 packs consist of dry food items each worth approximately Rs. 1400/= and 300 delicious lunch packs collectively benefitted more than 1500 residence in the area. The program conducted with strict observance of COVID prevention procedures. The residence highly praised the security forces for the care offered to the people all the time.
