The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc along with his staff visited seven kovils, which are to be released for the Hindu devotees on 26 February 2024.
The Hindu community in Jaffna are highly concern on kovils, which are approved and they have been used during ancient time. The Government also in the process of releasing those by considering people’s believes. Hence, by giving due concern to civil community Jaffna Commander visited Pillayar Kovil, Shakthivel Murugan Kovil, Rajeswari Kovil, Nagathampiran Kovil, Shivan Kovil and Sri Muththumari Amman Kovil, Naga Kovil, Mananpir Pillayar Kovil and given his direction to allow Hindu devotees to visit kovils where as arrange safe routes for them to enter since all kovils located within the High Security Zone of Palaly Army Cantonment.
The Commander of the Army given his guidance and direction to Jaffna Commander to do a feasibility study of releasing those Kovils and assist for the government reconciliation process.
