Empowering Little Hearts and Minds - 51 Infantry Division Uplifts Education in Jaffna

In a heartwarming initiative aimed at empowering the future generation, the 51 Infantry Division proudly conducted a new Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) initiative in Kopay. Under the direction of the Commander, Security Force Jaffna, Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc and visionary leadership of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, 9 (V) SLLI which is under 511 Infantry Brigade has organized a school bags donation programme at Palali North GTM School on 29 May 2025.This event saw 40 school children from low-income families receive school bags, extending helping hand for their steps toward brighter educational journey. The presence of the Divisional Secretary of Telippalei, government officials, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents added a sense of community spirit and significance to the occasion. This thoughtful gesture not only provided material support but also instilled hope and encouragement among little learners in the region.

The event was further dignified by the presence of Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna), who graced the occasion as the chief guest on the invitation of General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division. His presence underscored the Army's deep commitment to the well-being and development of the civilian population in the Northern Province. Financial sponsorship for the initiative was generously provided by Mr. T. Mohanaras, owner of Thenu Food City, Jaffna, reflecting the power of public private partnerships in nation building. Continuing With this type of programms, the 51 Infantry Division continues to strengthen the bonds with local communities, fostering unity, hope, and a stronger future for the children of Jaffna.
