The 513 Infantry Brigade initiated another humanitarian intervention by donating 1500 dry ration packs among economically deprived needy families in 51 Infantry Division AOR on 19 May 2022 in contribution extend by Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation as per the CIMIC plan of 51 Infantry Division. The event was organized with the blessing of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division Major General Chandana Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc.
This donation was initiated to enhance trust and confidence among military and community in order to address the food requirement of needy people in 51 Infantry Division AOR to fulfill their basic needs.
The initial programme was organized by the Commanding Officers of 11 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 16 (V) Gamunu Watch and the troops, according to all religious rites at Naga Viharaya International Buddhist Center under the supervision of Commander 513 Infantry Brigade Colonel Rizvi Razick RSP.
The General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest and Chief Incumbent of Naga Viharaya International Buddhist Center, Venerable Meegahajadure Sirivimala, senior officers, officers, other ranks, distinguished invitees, and civil community took part in the occasion.
In addition to that distributing of ration packs took place in Bishops House, Pachchey Mosque in Jaffna and Mutthumariamman Kovil - Keeramalei to mark the event.
