The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, engaged in courtesy visits within the Jaffna region on 25 and 26 June. During the visit Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) met with Rt. Rev. Justin Bernard Gnanapragasam - Bishop of Jaffna at the Bishop’s House, Mrs. T Murugeson - Chief Secretary of the Northern Province. On the following day, 26 June met with Mr. N Vethanayahan - Honourable Governor of the Northern Province, and Mr. M Piratheepan, District Secretary of Jaffna at their workplaces respectively.
During the meetings, the dignitaries expressed their gratitude for the Army’s significant role in constructing new houses for low-income families, cooperation in preventing illegal activities in the area. They also commended the army for maintaining normalcy in the region and sought continued military assistance for future essential needs.
Before concluding the visit, Commander SFHQ (J) presented a special token of appreciation to the respected dignitaries in each location.
The presence of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Commander 512 Infantry Brigade and Senior Officers of Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna) added significance to these visits.
