Courtesy Visit to Honorable Governor of the Northern Province and District Secretary of Jaffna by Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna)

The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Major General KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc, engaged in courtesy visit within the Jaffna region on 03 February 2026. During the visit Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) met with Mr. N Vethanayahan - Honourable Governor of the Northern Province and Mr. M Piratheepan, District Secretary of Jaffna at their offices respectively.

During the meetings, the dignitaries discussed the Sri Lanka Army’s valuable post-war contributions in the Northern Province and expressed their gratitude for the vital role in supporting the region, appreciating the efforts made to release lands previously occupied by Army troops. They commended the Army for maintaining peace and normalcy in the area and sought continued military assistance for future essential needs.

Before concluding the visit, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) presented a special token to the respected dignitaries in each location to mark his visit. The Major General MR Razick RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division and Senior Officers of Headquarters, Security Forces (Jaffna) also took part in the event.
