Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the recently appointed Commander of Security Forces – Jaffna, embarked on a spiritual journey across several historic religious sites in the Jaffna peninsula on Monday, 1 July 2025. this series of visits, marking his assumption of duties, symbolized his commitment to promoting religious harmony and cultural respect in the region.
Commencing his itinerary, Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc visited the historic Nagadeepa Raja Maha Viharaya, where he was warmly received by the Chief Incumbent, Venerable Navadagala Padumakittithissa Thero. The Commander took part in the temple’s monthly almsgiving ceremony and engaged in a brief discussion regarding the ongoing development of the sacred premises, reaffirming the military's commitment to preserving the spiritual sanctity of this revered site.
Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc was accompanied by the Colonel General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna and a number of senior officers. His presence at these multi-faith religious venues underlined his vision of fostering mutual understanding, peace building, and cultural unity in the post-conflict Northern Province.
These engagements not only highlighted his reverence for religious institutions but also demonstrated the Sri Lanka Army’s continued efforts to support interfaith harmony and the socio-cultural upliftment of the communities it serves.
