Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) Handover New Houses to Needy Families in Paranthan and Kilinochchi

As part of the ongoing housing project of the Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) handed over the keys of two newly constructed houses to the deserving families in Paranthan and Kilinochchi, on 16 October 2024 coincide with the 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army.

The Jaffna Commander vested the first house to the beneficiary, Mr. Thureisami Santhira Thevan residing in Sivapuram, Paranthan amidst religious blessings.This new house was constructed by the troops of 6th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (6 SLSR) with the generous patronages of philanthropists’ assistance provided by Professor Bandara Athauda, Mr. Ariyarathne Wijesiri - the Assistant Director of Education, Mr. Ruwan Deshapriya Jayarathne, Mr. Jeewanathan Kandaiya and troops of 6 SLSR.

Afterwards, the Jaffna Commander vested the second house to the beneficiary, Lance Corporal Yogawadana M, who is married to Sergeant Sanjaya GMG residing in Pannankandi, Kilinochchi. This new house was constructed by the troops of 14th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (14 SLNG) with materials provided by the family members and troops of 14 SLNG.

Both the houses were constructed under the direction of Major General RKNC Jayawardena RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding of 55 Infantry Division and supervision and guidance of Colonel WAIS Mendis RSP USP, Commander of 553 Infantry Brigade.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, family members and villagers were present at both the occasions.
