The recently - appointed Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa RWP RSP made a courtesy call on the Government Agent – Jaffna, Mr Kanapathipillai Maheshan on Friday 07 January 2022.
During the meeting, several important matters, such as COVID- 19 coordination and control operations, progress of Civil - Military Coordination, land releasing process and Reconciliation in Jaffna peninsula were discussed. During the discussion, Government Agent highly appreciated the security forces in Jaffna for the keen interest and the actions undertake to beef up the security and maintain the normalcy in the Jaffna peninsula while initiating preventive measures to curtail the illegal activities such as drug trafficking, sand mining, logging etc and the support extended to mitigate disaster situations and help the affected people.
General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigadier General Staff, Commander 512 Brigade and few other senior officers were present during the discussions.
