The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of The Army Visits the Security Force (Jaffna)

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc made an official visit to Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) on Monday, 12 April 2021 and was warmly welcomed by the Commander Security Force (Jaffna) Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu.

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army arrived in Palaly in the morning and he was received by the Commander Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna.

The Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army made his troops address at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Palaly, in which a gathering of three-digit number troops were present representing all under command formations of Security Force (Jaffna) and Sister Services. During the address, he highlighted the national significance of the troops, committed for national security and commended the selfless commitment, extended for prevention of COVID -19 pandemic and their dedicated services to safeguard lives of citizens in the Jaffna peninsula. He also reminded the troops of their nation-building roles and civil-military welfare projects, being carried out in the peninsula.

At the end of the troop address, the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army exchanged the mementoes with Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Palaly, Wing Commander J A Amarasinghe and Deputy Commander Northern Naval Area, Commodore JP Pemaratne RSP psc.

General Officers Commanding 51, 52 and 55 Divisions, Commander Forward Maintenance Area North, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Brigade Commanders, Senior Staff Officers of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops of Tri Services were also present.
