Under the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programmes, the 51 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarter (Jaffna) continues to make meaningful strides in supporting to uplift living standard of low income families in Jaffna. Under the strategic direction of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, a special community outreach effort was recently held to empower under privileged living stranded. The event, supervised by Commander 511 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier KD Gothatuwa RWP RSP and executed with the dedicated support of the 15th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard troops, included the ceremonial vesting of a newly constructed house on 18th August 2025 at J/203 Earlalai (South), Mylankadu to a low income family, held on 8th August 2025 offering a fresh start and renewed hope.
The occasion was graced by Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, who attended as the Chief Guest, alongside a gathering of senior military officers and government officials, adding dignity and glamour to the event. The construction was made possible through a generous financial contribution by Rev. S. Wesley Ariarajah and facilitated by Vanni Aid Canada, with coordination efforts led by Major General Ravi Rathnasingham (Retd).
This event underscores the strong commitment to humanitarian efforts and the importance of community support in improving the living conditions of underprivileged families.
