Lieutenant Colonel DGJBP Dembatagahawatta USP psc assumed duties as the 9th Commanding Officer of 1 Mechanized Infantry Regiment (1 MIR) on 07th March 2023 with formal military ceremonies.
The military formalities were commenced soon after the guard turnout at the entrance. Subsequently, he was accorded with a ceremonial parade presented by 1 MIR troops. After that he took over duties as the Commanding Officer while proceeding with religious observances. Later, he addressed the troops and took part in all Ranks tea.
