Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) celebrated the 73rd National Independence Day with the participation of officers and other ranks. The National Flag was hoisted by Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Brigadier Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG and followed by two minute silence pay the respect to all the patriots and war heroes who scarified their lives for the noble cause of defending the freedom, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of mother Sri Lanka.
Independence Day speech was delivered by Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna). Later, troops engaged in a programme to plant saplings inside Palaly Army Cantonment. At the end of the programme, troops witnessed the live telecast of Independence Day parade and ceremony at the auditorium.
