In celebration of both World Children’s Day and the Sri Lanka Army's 75th anniversary, the 552 Infantry Brigade, in collaboration with the Spin Riders Club, conducted a school items distribution programme on 5th October 2024. The event, held at Kili/Gnanimadam Tamil Mixed School in Poonaryn, provided essential school supplies to 51 children.
The initiative was organized under the leadership of Major General MGWWWMCB Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Force - Jaffna, and with the guidance of Major General RKNC Jayawardena RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division. The programme was supervised by Colonel CD Welagedara USP IG, Brigade Commander of the 552 Infantry Brigade, and supported by the 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
This generous effort underscores the Army’s ongoing commitment to supporting the educational needs of children and fostering good will within the local communities.
