55 Division troops of the Security Forces (Jaffna) distributed more than 175 dry ration packs among Needy families in GN divisions of Katkowalam, Thumpalei, Puloly (N), Wallipuram, Thunnalei villages in Poind Pedro, Jaffna on 16 June 2021.
As per guidelines given by Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), the distribution programme was carried out under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding Major General Sisira Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP. The programme was carried out to facilitate low-income families undergoing hardships due to prevailing COVID -19 pandemic situation in the area.
Commander 551 Brigade, Commanding Officer, Officers and Other Ranks of 16th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Grama Niladaris of the villages and Public Health Inspectors joined the programme after visiting doorsteps of all those recipients.
