In order to have good will gesture with the civil society and to uplift the standards of sports in schools, Major General SRK Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna on 14th September 2023 released 1 acres 3 roods and 10.52 perches of land in Anandapuram, Kilinochchi, which was utilized by the troops as the Army War Monument.
Official documents of the land were handed over by Major General Sujeewa Hettiarahchi to Mrs. Rupawathi Ketheeswaran, District Secretary for Kilinochchi District in a brief ceremony. This land was released as per the request made by Kilinochchi Madya Maha Vidyalaya.
Major General RKNC Jayawardene RSP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, DIG JS Samudrajeewa DIG Kilinochchi Division, Brigade Commanders of 551, 552 and 553, Divisional Secretary Karachchi, Government and Private Sector Officials, School Staff with Students, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the ceremony.
