55 Division Clinchs ‘Volleyball Trophy 2020’

The Volleyball tournament, which had the participation of 10 teams under command to Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna was organized by the Forward Maintenance Area (North) under the guidance and direction of the Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya in order to improve the sportsmanship of Officers and Soldiers and to develop cohesion among them. After a tight competition, the 55 Division Team emerged champions beating 52 Division Team at the finals of the Volleyball tournament of the Security Forces - Jaffna.

55 Division Team won the Champions Trophy and 52 Division Team emerged runners - up in the tournament. The Best Dasher was entitled to S/830048 Private Jayasena HP of 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment. The Best Passer was S/830141 Private Gunasekara BUU of 1st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Regiment. The finals was held at the Forward Maintenance Area (North) premises on Friday, 06 March 2020.

Commander Security Forces - Jaffna graced the occasion as the chief guest and awarded the Championship trophy to the winners. General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier General Staff Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Troops were present at the event.
