Under the guidance of Major General PR Pathiravithana USAWC psc, General Officer Commander of 52 Infantry Division an important religious event of Katina Pinkama at the Shri Samuddhi Suman Temple, Nawatkuliya was held on the 22nd and 23rd October 2024.
The event was organized under the supervision of Colonel SMCAS Samarathunga RSP, Commander of 523 Infantry Brigade with the participation of Commanding Officers and the troops of 523 Infantry Brigade.
Katina Pinkama was sponsored by Reverend Rajakeeya Panditha Alankulame Nayaka Thero including his followers. The two-day’s event was marked by a strong sense of community and devotion, reflecting the solidarity of the local people and the military. The efforts of the Army along with the active involvement of the Villagers of Navatkuli played a crucial role in making this traditional festival a success.
The commitment shown by Headquarters of 52 Infantry Division not only fulfilled the objectives of Katina Pinkama but also strengthened the bond between the Army and the civilian community. This successful event serves as a testament to the power of collective efforts to promote religious and cultural values in the region.
