Generous sponsorship provided by the friends of Major General (Retired) Ravi Rathnasingham living in Canada and the owner of the Murugan Trading Company - Kurunegala, Mr. S Suresh, 51 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - Jaffna coordinated and distributed more than 225 dry ration packs among needy families in Ilawalai, Pandathirippu, Chullipuram, Wadukoddai and Manipay areas on Friday 18 June 2021.
The relief project was conducted under the supervision of Major General Deepal Pussella RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division and the guidance of Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna). It was meant to ease low income families of their undergoing hardships due to prevailing Covid - 19 pandemic situation in the area.
Brigadier Mohomad Fariz, Commander 513 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 11th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 16th Battalion of Gemunu Watch, Grama Niladaris of the villages and Public Health Inspectors joined the programme after visiting doorsteps of all those recipients.
