The 51 Infantry Division celebrated its 30th Anniversary amid religious and military formalities under the guidance of Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division on 23rd August 2025.
A ‘Bodhi Puja Pinkama’ that was held on 22nd August 2025 at the temple premises invoked blessings on the division. The sequence of events planned in accordance with military traditions, the General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division, Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, was honored in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by the 17 Gemunu Watch troops on the anniversary day.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, a series of ceremonial and entertainment activities were held to mark the occasion with pride and camaraderie. Major General MPNA Muthumala USP psc, the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, graced the event as the Chief Guest. The General Officer Commanding posed for group photographs with the troops, delivered an inspiring address, and joined the All Ranks lunch, reflecting the spirit of unity and mutual respect within the military community. Adding a festive touch to the celebrations, a vibrant Musical Night was organized within the premises, serving as the grand finale to the anniversary event and leaving all attendees with cherished memories.
Further, all brigade commanders, battalion commanders, staff officers and troops were invited for the anniversary celebrations.
