The 51 Infantry Division celebrated its 29th Anniversary amid religious and military formalities under the guidance of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division on 28 Aug 2024.
A ‘Bodhi Puja Pinkama’ that was held on 18 August 2024 at the temple premises inside the Division Headquarters compound invoked blessings on the Division, the Army and all the troops.
In accordance with military traditions, the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division, Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, was honoured in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by the troops of 17th Battalion the Gemunu Watch on the Anniversary day.
The General Officer Commanding posed for group photographs, addressed the troops and all ranks lunch. Furthermore, a Musical Night was staged in the premises as the last feature of the Anniversary event.
Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the chief guest.
