36 Riders Passed out after successful completion of training at Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna

The Security Forces Headquarters Jaffna recently conducted the pass out Ceremony of the Rapid Deployment Bike Division, marking the successful completion of a Quick Reaction Team (QRT) Refresher Course. This 14-day training program, held from 17 February 2025 to 6 March 2025, was initiated under the guidance of Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP NDU psc, the Commander of Security Forces Jaffna.

The course was designed to enhance the operational capabilities of selected soldiers within the Jaffna area of responsibility, equipping them with essential skills for counter-terrorism operations utilizing motorcycles. The rigorous training was conducted by expert instructors from the Combat Rider Squadron of the 1st Special Forces Regiment, under the supervision of Brigadier MPKL Amarasinghe WWV RWP RSP, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna.

The passing out parade for the course took place on 6 March 2025 at the playground of the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, with the Commander of Security Forces Jaffna gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by senior military officials, including the General Officer Commandings of the 52 and 55 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders of the 511, 512, and 513 Infantry Brigades, as well as Battalion Commanders and over 50 senior officers, officers, and 300 other ranks.

During the certificate awarding ceremony, 36 soldiers who successfully completed the course were honored with certificates, recognizing their dedication and competence. Additionally, the course instructors presented prizes to outstanding performers in appreciation of their exceptional skills and commitment.

The disbandment of the Rapid Deployment Bike Division marks a significant milestone in strengthening the rapid response capabilities of the Security Forces in Jaffna. The skills and expertise gained by the trained soldiers will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing security and operational readiness in the region.
