3rd Signal Regiment bids farewell to Chief of Staff Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya ndu psc on 10th January 2021 at the Regiment Headquarters, Palaly.
Upon the escorted arrival at the Main Entrance of the Regiment, Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel NPA Mendis psc SLSC received the Chief Guest and awarded the traditional ceremonial Guard Turnout of the unit. Then he was guided to the Regiment’s Monument to pay the Floral Tribute in memory of all Fallen Heroes of the Regiment that was followed by planting a sapling in front of the Regiment Headquarters to mark his final official visit to 3rd Signal Regiment as he was the 14th Commanding Officer of the Regiment.
Conducting a troops address, the welcome and farewell speech was delivered by the Commanding Officer and Colonel Commandant addressed the troops upon the invitation of the Commanding Officer. In the same venue, Commanding Officer presented the Plaque of Honour of the Regiment and a souvenir to the Colonel Commandant in appreciation of his instrumental service rendered to the Regiment during his tour of duty that was followed by a Courtesy Tea at the Officers Mess.
