A number of 119 employees from Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery set off to their homes after completing two - week quarantine process at Periyapachchilaipalai Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on Sunday, 04 April 2021. Having gone through the required quarantine procedures, they were awarded with quarantine certificates by the Commander 553 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Sujeewa Jayasingha. Soon after the awarding of certificates personnel who underwent the quarantine process commended the commitment and dedication of the army troops at Periyapachchilaipalai Quarantine Centre.
The quarantined people were provided necessary transport facilities to reach their destinations. Furthermore, they were provided packeted meals, snacks, water bottle, before commencing their journey.
The quarantine process was conducted by the troops of Security Force (Jaffna) under the supervision of Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator of - COVID - 19 Control and Prevention in Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu with the guidance of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID - 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) headed by General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Chief of the Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
