The annual Dansala which is organized by the United Merchant Association – Diyatalawa was conducted this time also for the 8th consecutive year on 27 June 2018 at the Cultural Centre, Diyatalawa.

A Kadala Dansala was organized on 26 June 2018 by the Viru Kekulu Pre School, Diyatalawa which is under command to Security Forces (Central) on the account of Poson Full Moon Poya Day which falls on 27 June 2018. The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG as well as senior officers, officers and other ranks of this Headquarters participated in this Dansala. The students of the pre school served Kadala to all the participants and civilians of the area.

The Olympians Run 2018 was held in Kandy on 22 June 2018 by the Sri Lanka Olympians (SLO) in parallel with the celebrations of the International Olympic Day which falls on 23 June. In accordance with a request made by the organizing committee of this event from the Commander of the Army, 2 officers and 179 other ranks also participated in this representing the SL Army Athletic Team.

A Dengue Eradication Programme was launched in the Hambantota District on 22 June 2018 by the military personnel of 122 Brigade on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG. Due to prevailed weather condition the threat of spreading dengue fever has increased. Therefore, this campaign was conducted to control the threat of mosquitoes in and around the Hambantota District.
