Giving priority to traditional and fun-making folk games and collective events, the festive atmosphere across the country on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year made its presence at Security Force Headquarters (Central) by a marathon run, started from the main gate of Security Force Headquarters (Central) and then other New Year events held at Muthukumaru ground - Diyatalawa throughout 11 April 2016.

The traditional Sinhala and Tamil new year festive season across the country made its entry in to 7th regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps when the officers and soldiers of the unit joined hands together with one another to celebrate the dawn of the new year - 2016 followed by other traditional rituals at auspicious times. The commanding officer Lt Col GS Fonseka USP psc, as the chief guest took time off to inaugurate the day’s celebrations and customs of sooryamangalya - 2016.
