Year celebrations of 7 SLSC

The traditional Sinhala and Tamil new year festive season across the country made its entry in to 7th regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps when the officers and soldiers of the unit joined hands together with one another to celebrate the dawn of the new year - 2016 followed by other traditional rituals at auspicious times. The commanding officer Lt Col GS Fonseka USP psc, as the chief guest took time off to inaugurate the day’s celebrations and customs of sooryamangalya - 2016.

The commanding officer lighted the hearth at the auspicious time, 2006 hrs on 13th April 2016. Then after lighting the traditional oil lamp the CO commenced the tradition of transacting and consuming the first meal of the New Year along with other officers and ORs of 7 SLSC at 2054 hrs. The CO also took this occasion to offer his best compliments for a prosperous and a happy future and good luck to all the officers and soldiers of 7 SLSC in the newly dawn year.
