On the direction & guidance of Brigadier M G A N B Mahathuwakkara RWP RSP ndc, the Commandant of Ranaviru Apparel, the Human Resource Department organized a workshop at camp premises on “Cultivation of Export crop” with the support of Department of Export Agriculture in Gampaha District for Officers and Other Ranks of Ranaviru Apparel – Yakkala on 19 January 2023.
Visiting team including Mr. Nalaka Kushantha, Project Officer, Mrs. Wathsala Bandara Jayasundara, Project Officer and Mrs. Lakshmi Hansika, Development Officer conducted the program.
Accordingly, this promotional encouragement program was conducted to enhance knowledge on the cultivation of perennial export agricultural crops such as Cinnamon, Pepper, Betel and Betel nut and this included the Annual crops of Ginger and Turmeric.
This motivational program covered different phases of cultivation, such as selection and identification of most suitable crops for garden cultivation, Land preparation, Increasing productivity and quality of products, methods and means s to increase land productivity and Produce quality products, Availability of certified seeds and plant varieties, Methods of financial incentives and plantations . As well as informed about ways to obtain scientific advice.
