RANAVIRU APPAREL CELEBRATES 21ST ANNIVERSARY
Troops of Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) together with differently able troops serving at Yakkala Factory celebrated the 21st anniversary with series of events, giving priority to religious activities, at the camp premises in Yakkala under the guidance of Major General Manjula Mantunga , Commandant – RVAPL, on a grand scale during December 9 and 10.

Meanwhile, on 9th December as the 1st phase of the programme, an all- night Pririth Chanting followed by a alms giving ceremony was organized at the factory premises to bless all members including differently able troops serving the RVAPL and the Army as well as to transfer merits to fallen War Heroes.

On the next day (10 December), the Commandant was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Kapila Ranaweera, Deputy Commandant on arrival at the camp premise. On the same occasion, a Guard Turnout presented by the troops of Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment serving at the RVAPL saluted Major General Manjula Mantunga, Commandant – RVAPL, in accordance with military traditions.

Afterwards, a planting Blue olives / Ceylon olive (Elaeocarpus serratus) indigenous to Sri Lanka tree sapling at the camp premised .Meanwhile the commandant address the troops and extended his best wishes to all members of the Ranaviru Apparel on its 21st anniversary. The Commandant thanked all members past and present and their families for their contribution towards enabling the Ranaviru Apparel to reach the heights it has achieved.

A troop address followed by all rank lunch culminated the day's programme. All officers, Other Ranks and members of the civil staff participated in the anniversary formalities.
