The Board of Management (BOM) meeting at the Ranaviru Apparel (RVAPL) got underway on 03 May 2024, chaired by Major General S P A I M B Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Army.
The Commandant of RVAPL, Brigadier M G A N B Mahathuwakkara RWP RSP ndc cordially welcomed the Chairman and all members of the BOM. Subsequently, the Commandant of RVAPL delivered a comprehensive briefing about the RVAPL.
Major General W W H R R V M N D K B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc Adjutant General, Major General A K Rajapaksa RSP Master General Ordnance, Brigadier S W R Prasanna RWP RSP USP Director Infantry, Brig S C Ekanayake RSP Director Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation participated in the BOM discussion.
Board members afterwards discussed general administrative and logistic matters, related to production improvements of the RVAPL.
After the BOM meeting, the Deputy Chief of Staff, together members of BOM visited the RVAPL Yakkala Camp premises and inspected all production sections of the Factory. Furthermore, he gave necessary instructions to increase productivity and highly appreciated the effort of Factory staff for their contribution to strengthening the effectiveness and readiness of the Army.
According to the itinerary, the Board of Management meeting was held to discuss the various matters. And also collaborative decisions were made to shape the future plans including IT upgrade for both Yakkala and Alawwa factories, Capacity improvement, Introduction of new product, Green Energy project, Infrastructure facility development, Fitness facility enhancement, Constructions and Skill development of RVAPL.
The DCOS was briefed about the factory process and Layout followed by factory visit and a planting a Beli (Aegle Marmelos) tree sapling at the camp premises as a symbol of memory.
The day’s proceedings culminated with an interaction session with all officers at the Officers mess. Finally, the RVAPL Commandant presented an appreciative memento to the BOM Members. The Chairman of the BOM expressed his appreciation to all Officers and ORs of RVAPL.
Towards the end of the day’s proceedings, the DCOS placed his signature in the Visitors’ book as a memory of his visit to RVAPL.
