Major General E M M Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, a distinguished military officer with 33 years of illustrious military career and assumed his office as the 36th Commander Logistics Command on 05th of June 2024. He was born on 08 July 1970, is a proud product of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda. This Senior Officer joined the Sri Lanka Army on 07 September 1990 with “Intake 2” of Pakistan Military Academy. Upon successful completion of basic military training at Pakistan Military Academy and Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyathalawa, and he was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant and posted to the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps on 13 March 1991.


During his illustrious military career, he has held various appointments in both operational and non- operational areas including Platoon Commander - IS Platoon (HQ SLLI- TCO), IS Platoon (HQ TF 1- PLY), Officer Instructor at HQ Infantry Training Centre - Minneriya, HQ Combat Training School (Ampara), Group Officer at 2 DOU (Anuradhapura), Officer Commanding - Forward Ordnance Depot (Welioya), Staff Officer 3 (Supply and Maintain) - Master General Ordnance Branch, Officiating Major (Admin Quartering) - HQ Commando Brigade, Staff Officer 2 (Logistic) - Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Staff Officer 2 (Local Purchase / Officer Commanding Port)- Directorate of Ordnance Services, Officer Commanding - Forward Ordnance Depot (Diyathalawa), Staff Officer 2 (Logistic) - Sri Lanka Military Academy (Diyathalawa), Major (Admin Quartering) - 515 Infantry Brigade (Jaffna), Staff Officer 1 (Admin) - Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Over Looking Commandant - School of Ordnance, Commanding Officer - 4 (Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, Staff Officer 1 (Procurement Planning & Provisioning), (Executive), (Group 1), (Group3) - Directorate of Ordnance Services, Staff Officer 1 (Admin) - RHQ SLAOC, Over Looking Commanding Officer - 1 SLAOC, Deputy Commandant & Stock Control Officer - Central Arms and Ammunition Depot, Over Looking Commandant - Central Arms and Ammunition Depot, Officiating Colonel(Admin Quartering) - Headquarters 59 Infantry Division, Colonel (Logistic) - Director of Overseas Ops, Colonel (Master General Ordnance ) - Master General Ordnance Branch, Colonel (Admin Quartering) - Security Force Headquarters (Kilinochchi), Commandant - Army School of Logistic (Trincomalee).


1. Presently, this Senior Officer is serving as the Commander- Forward Maintenance Area (North).
