HISTORY
This Agriculture project has been establishedin 46-acre land area out of 411 acre belongs to 1 SLAGSC Detachment at gen area Padalangala -Kuttigala with a special council decision by RHQ SLAGSC on 01 February 2022.
Thereafter Agricultural project of 2(v) SLAGSC was inaugurated on 31 March 2022 with 1 x 10 troops belongs to the 2(v) SLAGSC. Temporary building was constructed for the accommodation of ORS beforestarting the preliminary work of particular project.
There are 1 x 58 of troops employed in the project and basic tillage has been done as of now onward. Furthermore, there were 600 coconut plants and 1600 of TOM & JC mango plants planted with respectively amalgamating with Ceylon Coconut development board and Ministry of export agriculture.
Moreover, 8 acres of Maize, 5 acres of Black Gram and 2 acres of Green Grams andshort-termcrops such as Tomato, bitter goad, snake goad, pumpkin, capsicum, radish, brinjalEtc are already planted for the MAHA cultivation season.
While executing the agricultural project further action has been taken in order to supply for the following requirements:
- a. Construction of accommodation areas.
- b. acquisition of agricultural Tractors and equipment.
- c. Preparing of agricultural wells.
- d..acquisition of water and electricity.
AIM
Is to in support to green economy concept by supplying agricultural products.
VISION
Is to cultivating various type of agricultural crop in order to support to the Sri lanka Army to contribute for green economy development.
MISSION
Upgrading live standard of the soldiers of the Sri lanka Army by training for various type of agricultural techniques. Thereby supplying agricultural product to the public for reasonable price and contribute to green economy project of government.
