BRIEF HISTORY

FMA(MLT) was ESTB by ARO 64/2009 G/SD/51/4 AHQ LTR Dated 13 AUG 2009. Initially the HQ FMA (MLT) was established at Mulliyaweli(GR 994441) in 17 AUG 2009.The HQ FMA assign with role to performed as an efficient and effective admin and logistic supply system through all relevant service units for all ops/ peace time requirement within the SFHQ(MLT) AOR. Two months later from the date of establishment , FMA was shifted to Nandikadal area (GR 983515)and co-located with SFHQ (MLT). After that resettlement project of IDPs, FMA was shifted to present loc(GR 984518) on22/10/2018. At the beginning of its function as a FMA consist with one squadron of ESR, 38 PRO COY, Field hospital, OC Tps of SLEME as field work shop, OC Tps of SLAOC as forward delivery point and OC Tps of SLASC.

HQ FMA spread out its fullest capacity through following enhancement with its under command service units

• One squadron of ESR upgraded to Bn as 16 ESR on 01/09/2012
• 38 PRO Coy uograded to Bn as 6 SLCMP on 07/01/2011
• field hospital upgraded to level of Base Hospital on 05/03/2013
• OCTps of SLAOC upgraded to a Bn as 7 SLAOC on 25/10/2010
• OCTps of SLASC upgraded to a Bn as 6 SLASC on 12/04/2010
• OCTps of SLEME field work shop upgraded to a Bn as 6 SLEME on 18/12/2009

Ever since HQ FMA is functioning in present location on 22/10/2018 at Nandikadal area (GR 984518) while providing adequate efficient and effective admin and logistic support to the SFHQ (MLT) AOR.

Vision

To be the pioneer in providing comprehensive logistics and administrative support for the troops deploy within the SFHQ (MLT) AOR.

Mission

To ensure efficient and effective logistics and administrative support for the troops through proper coordination of under command logistics units in order to maintain the operational readiness of all Army establishments within the SFHQ (MLT) AOR.

Responsibility

• To hold Responsibility to SF Comd for planning and implementation of admin and log sup systems within respective AOR.
• Proactive planning of log reqmts prior/during ops and peace time
• To formulate suitable scale of all log supplies in accordance with stipulated guidance by AHQ/ SFHQ
• To Maintain of sufficient stock levels at log units undercomd
• To Coordinate with relevant DTES at AHQ to forward delivery of all log sup reqd for the AOR.
• To hold Responsibility to SF Comd for planning and implementation of admin and log sup systems within respective AOR.
• To sight of all log sub units, echelons within the AOR as directed by AHQ, SF HQ.
• To Coordinate allocation of all log resources available within the AOR.
• To liaise with local authorities to obtain log supplies, utility services as when required.
• To formulate a suitable internal control system in order to counter malpractices through provost within our AOR as appropriate.
• To conduct periodical inspections of all log units in order to maintain prompt effective and efficient supply andaccounting system.
• To ensure the internal security system of all under command units.
