The construction of stupa is considered acts of great merit. Therefore, we are extremely fortunate, unbelievably fortunate that we were able to build a stupa and it gave us an incredible opportunity to accumulate merits. On 05 Aug 16, a formal religious ceremony was held at the temple premises, RHQ SLLI to enshrine Omniscient Sacred Relics and placing of the Pinnacle for the newly built stupa at the auspicious time. The Relics Casket including silver plates with engraved Suttas along with Gini Piritha and Wehi Piritha were enshrined in the Relic Chamber. Accordingly, Sacred Relics obtained from several Buddhist temples and unused sacred objects placed within the dome after the overnight pirith chanting held on 04 Aug 16 to invoke blessings. The temple at RHQ SLLI was built by Lt Gen HV Athukorale (retd) VSV psc FBIM on 12 May 1975 and it has been renovated recently.
