Major General K J N M P K Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, assumed duties as the Director General Infantry at the Army Headquarters on 19October 2024.
The new Director General signed the official document, symbolising his acceptance of the new office. Prior to this appointment, Major General K J N M P K Nawarathna RWP RSP nduserved as the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division.

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of the newly appointed Regimental Adjutant, the Gemunu Watch Major I L S D Nawarathnapscon 15th October 2025 as the Regimental Adjutant.
The incoming Adjutant was welcomed by all the Officers and Other Rankers of the Regimental Centre, the Gemunu Watch. The newly posted Adjutant assumed office, took over the duties amid religious observances and expressed his vision. All the Officers and Other Rankers of the Gemunu Watch extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Regimental Adjutant.

(Major General K.M.V. Kodituwakkundu assumed duties as the 19th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, amidst religious observances and military formalities, at the 57 Infantry Division on 08 October 2025.
(The newly appointed General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division and accorded a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour parade presented by the troops of the 9 Sri Lanka National Guard.

Before relinquishing his esteemed duties as the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch, Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP undertook his final series of official visits to the battalions under command, marking a significant and memorable occasion in the Regiment’s proud history.

The much-awaited Highlanders Talent Show 2025 was glamorously staged on 13th September 2025 at the Swimming Pool premises of the Regimental Centre, Gemunu Watch. The event was held under the distinguished patronage of Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment, Gemunu Watch.

The farewell ceremony for Major General HCL Galappathti RSP USP was held at the Regiment Centre on 27 August 2025 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.

The Highlanders’ Officers' Get-Together – 2025 of the Gemunu Watch was proudly held on August 23, 2025, at the Laya Beach Hotel, Wadduwa, bringing together both active and retired officers in a spirit of camaraderie, tradition, and shared pride.

The farewell ceremony for Major General U L J S PereraRSP USP npspsc was held at the Regiment Centre on 05July 2025 at the occasion of his retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.

Major General A.M.A Abeyawardana WWV RWP RSP ndc assumed duties as the 22nd General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 58 Infantry Division on 26 June 2025 at the 58 Infantry Division amidst military formalities.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.

The farewell ceremony for Brigadier DCVK Kulathunga USP and Brigadier DKR Perera was held at the Regiment Centre on 02 August 2025 and followed on 17 August 2025 on the occasion of their retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.
