DIRECTOR GENERAL INFANTRY BEGINS DUTIES

Major General K J N M P K Nawarathna RWP RSP ndu, assumed duties as the Director General Infantry at the Army Headquarters on 19October 2024.
The new Director General signed the official document, symbolising his acceptance of the new office. Prior to this appointment, Major General K J N M P K Nawarathna RWP RSP nduserved as the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.

THE NEWLY APPOINTED REGIMENTAL ADJUTANT ASSUMED THE OFFICE

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of the newly appointed Regimental Adjutant, the Gemunu Watch Major I L S D Nawarathnapscon 15th October 2025 as the Regimental Adjutant.
The incoming Adjutant was welcomed by all the Officers and Other Rankers of the Regimental Centre, the Gemunu Watch. The newly posted Adjutant assumed office, took over the duties amid religious observances and expressed his vision. All the Officers and Other Rankers of the Gemunu Watch extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Regimental Adjutant.

NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 57 INFANTRY DIVISION ASSUMES DUTIES

(Major General K.M.V. Kodituwakkundu assumed duties as the 19th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, amidst religious observances and military formalities, at the 57 Infantry Division on 08 October 2025.
(The newly appointed General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division and accorded a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour parade presented by the troops of the 9 Sri Lanka National Guard.

A LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP FINAL OFFICIAL VISIT AS COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT TO THE GEMUNU WATCH BATTALIONS

Before relinquishing his esteemed duties as the Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch, Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP undertook his final series of official visits to the battalions under command, marking a significant and memorable occasion in the Regiment’s proud history.

FAREWELL CEREMONY FOR BRIGADIER DCVK KULATHUNGA USP AND BRIGADIER DKR PERERA ACCORDED MILITARY SALUTE

The farewell ceremony for Brigadier DCVK Kulathunga USP and Brigadier DKR Perera was held at the Regiment Centre on 02 August 2025 and followed on 17 August 2025 on the occasion of their retirement after completing over 33 years of successful service in the Sri Lanka Army.
