    In an effort to promote financial discipline and personal well-being among Army soldiers, the Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund recently conducted an awareness session on financial management at RHQ SLE, RHQ SLSR, RHQ SLAGSC and RHQ SLAWC with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks.

    The program focused on enhancing financial literacy by educating participants on the importance of long-term savings. The session also highlighted practical approaches to managing monthly income, increasing savings and planning for future financial security during retirement.

    The awareness session was conducted by Colonel Chandana Kodithuwakku, Director ABF, who delivered an engaging and informative presentation, along with simple financial strategies that can be applied in daily life. Participants were encouraged to adopt disciplined financial practices to ensure stability for themselves and their families.

    The interactive nature of the program enabled participants to actively engage in discussions, share experiences and gain valuable insights into improving their financial strength.

     

    As a part of the ongoing awareness lecture series conducted by the Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund (ABF), briefing sessions were held at RHQ SLAC on 24 Feb 2026 and 14 Infantry Division on 03 March 2026 with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks.

    During the programme, Colonel K A D C J Kodithuwakku, Director ABF, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the objectives, functions and benefits of the Army Benevolent Fund.

    The Director also explained the proper procedures to be followed when forwarding applications and emphasized the importance of submitting complete and accurate documentation through the correct administrative channels to avoid delays in processing.

     

    The Directorate of Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) recently carried out awareness briefings at RHQ SLLI on 18 Feb 2026 and RHQ CES on 19 Feb 2026 with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks.

    Colonel K A D C J Kodithuwakku, Director ABF, addressed the attendees and outlined the scope and purpose of the Fund, who elaborated on the role of the Fund in uplifting the lifestyle and financial security of Army personnel. He explained the correct channels for submitting applications and stressed the importance of accuracy in documentation to facilitate prompt processing.

    During the discussions, attention was also drawn to common administrative shortcomings and the need for proper record maintenance at unit level. The interactive sessions enabled participants to seek clarification on membership matters and better understand the operational procedures of the Fund.
