A solemn and dignified commemoration ceremony was held on 14 January 2026 in honour of the Fallen Armour War Heroes, paying tribute to the brave officers and soldiers of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps who made the supreme sacrifice in the defence of the motherland. This annual event, conducted in accordance with regimental traditions, took place at the Armour War Heroes Monument, Kalattawa, Anuradhapura. The ceremony was attended by the Colonel Commandant, senior officers, officers and other ranks of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, reflecting the Regiment’s collective respect and remembrance of its fallen comrades.
The event was marked by the laying of floral wreaths and the observance of silence in honour of the fallen heroes, whose courage, dedication and selfless service remain an enduring source of inspiration to the regiment. The presence of the families of the fallen war heroes added a deeply poignant dimension to the commemoration, reaffirming the Armoured Corps’ enduring bond with those who bore the greatest sacrifice.
