The Major General Y Balarathnarajah VSV USP ndc Combat Endurance Training Competition - 2025, organized by the Armoured Corps Training Centre under the guidence of the Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, was held from 26 - 28 September 2025 at Kalattewa Battle Obstacle Belt.
The competition, held annually in memory of late Major General Y Balarathnarajah VSV USP ndc, aimed to improve fitness, endurance, self-confidence, and teamwork among corps members. The event sponsored by his son, Mr. Arjun Balarathnarajah, and family, featured six regimental teams completing a 5 km run and 20 obstacles in full battle order within 64 minutes. • 3rd Armoured Regiment won the Challenge Trophy - 2025 and Price money Rs. 100,000. • 4th Armoured Regiment became runner-up and Price money Rs. 50,000. • 1st Reconnaissance Regiment secured 2nd runner-up and Price money Rs. 40,000. • Tpr Vithanage H V S D (5 Recce Regt) was awarded the Trophy for the Best Combat Endurance Soldier and Price money Rs. 10,000.
The award ceremony was attended by Maj Gen M W A R C Wijesuriya (Chief Guest), Maj Gen A L P S Tillekerathna (Retd) (Guest of Honour), Commander Armoured Brigade, Senior Officers, and other ranks of the Corps.
