FAMILY VISIT PROGRAMME FOR UNMARRIED OTHERS RANKS ORGANIZED BY 4 ARMOURED REGIMENT

As another step of its unit familiarization programme, 4 AR organized a visit for the family members of unmarried ORs on 6th & 7th of January 2024 at Clappenburg.

A total of 103 family members, including parents and siblings of unmarried soldiers attended the event.

The programme kicked off with a briefing on the Regiment and the Corps during which, the importance of the military service and the vital role their sons are performing within the Army was highlighted.

Thereafter, family members visited Seruvavila Temple, Koneshvaram Kovil, Ore's Hill Military Museum, Ashroff Jetty and Sri Lanka Port Authority vessels.

In the night, a musical show along with dinner was organized where families were able to enjoy the evening beside a bonfire.

All participants were fortunate to experience a Tank Display on the following day before departing from Clappenburg.

4 AR organized a similar visit for wives and kids of married ORs in May 2023 and this visit was it's extension focusing on patents of unmarried ORs. This welfare initiative intends to foster inclusiveness of ORs and their families with the regiment while enhancing their pride towards the military service.

The family visit indeed marked great memories and concluded with gratifying good byes by the parents of ORs who were able to get a first hand experience of their sons' service to the Nation.
