Brigadier S J Samarasinghe psc officially assumed duties as the Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, on 11 December 2025. The programme commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by the formal taking over of duties at the Centre Commandant’s Office amidst religious blessings. To mark this significant occasion, a tree sapling was also planted within the camp premises, symbolizing growth and continuity.
Afterwards, the new Centre Commandant addressed the Commandant of ACTC and all Commanding Officers, conveying his command philosophy and outlining his vision for the Corps. The event concluded with a tea party at the Officers’ Mess, providing an opportunity for fellowship in a pleasant and dignified atmosphere. Overall, the ceremony reflected the Corps’ rich traditions and the pride of its members as they welcomed the new Centre Commandant.
