Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and General Officer Commanding, 64 Infantry Division, Major General M S Devapriya USP ndc made an official visit to 7(V) Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 29 September 2024. He was accompanied by Brig A P C R Premathilaka RSP USP ndc - Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre SLAC, and Brig A A D P Kulathilaka USP ndc psc - Commander Armoured Brigade.
Upon his arrival, the Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Lt Col M W Wishwamithra psc, the Commanding Officer of 7(V) Regiment Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and greeted with a Guard Turnout in keeping with formal military traditions. After planting a white sandalwood sapling to commemorate the visit, the Senior Officer posed for a group photograph with all the officers and SNCOs of the unit.
The Colonel Commandant also attended a detailed briefing by the Commanding Officer regarding the unit’s AOR, Command Structure, Operational, Administrative and Financial matters. Then he inspected the camp premises and addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of training, discipline, proper management of the Army properties and resources, responsibility to prevent misuse of Army properties, and financial management in maintaining a high quality of life for soldiers in the Army.
The day’s itinerary concluded with a lunch at the Officers’ Mess, where the Colonel Commandant penned his remarks in the Visitors' Book before departing.
