The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps proudly welcomed Major General P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc as the 16th Colonel Commandant of the Regiment on 20 June 2025.
The ceremonial proceedings commenced with a dignified Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour at the Regimental Parade Ground. Amidst the blessings of religious observances, Major General Ravi Pathiravithana formally assumed duties at the Colonel Commandant’s Office, marking a significant milestone in the history of the Corps.
He then addressed the troops, emphasizing unity, professionalism, and the importance of regimental pride. Subsequently, he graced the All Ranks Tea Party, engaging warmly with members across all levels.
Later, during a special address to officers at the Officers’ Mess, the Colonel Commandant underlined the vital need for every officer to be professionally qualified, competent, and disciplined, setting the tone for his vision and expectations for the future of the Regiment.
