The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps bid a fond farewell to Major General WP Kariyawasam on 18 February 2025 at Rock House Camp, marking the end of a remarkable career dedicated to the Corps and the Army.
The day’s proceedings commenced with a Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour at the parade ground, a fitting tribute to his unwavering service.
Major General Priyantha Kariyawasam then addressed all ranks at the auditorium, sharing his invaluable experiences and words of wisdom. The farewell continued with an All Ranks Tea Party, where officers and soldiers had the opportunity to express their gratitude and well wishes. After the procedings he left the Rock House premises through a Street Line formed by the Officers and Soldiers of the Corps.
The evening concluded with a Mess Night at the Cavalry Mess, a gathering steeped in tradition, where the Corps celebrated the legacy of this esteemed Cavalryman.
